Getting To Know Allison Daley Xcelerate Lacrosse Camp Director
Allison Daley has a wealth of experience having been a collegiate player at D1 Canisius College, and she enters her first season as head women's lacrosse Coach of Canisius College.
Coach Daley will be directing our Xcelerate Lacrosse Camp at the University at Buffalo this summer, July 29-Aug. 1.
How many years have you been coaching lacrosse?
I am in my 7th year coaching. 6 years as an assistant and now a Head Coach
What is your favorite camp drill/activity?

What do you find most rewarding about being a coach?
Mentorship and relationship building with the student-athletes
What is one of your favorite memories of being a coach?
Being named Head Coach at my alma mater
What is your most memorable experience playing the sport?
Winning our first ever MAAC Championship in 2011. Playing with Team Canada in 2007 and 2017
What is your favorite sport outside of lacrosse and how do you think knowledge/skills in that sport translate to lacrosse?
Basketball during March Madness – shows anyone can in on any given day (from a mentality point of view). Footbal from a coaching point of view – they have so many “specialty” coaches and a lot of effort and time going into the skill work aspect.
What do you believe are the most important characteristics of improvement?
Willingness to learn
Desire to get better

What do you think is the most under-appreciated skill/ability in the sport of lacrosse?
I think some players tend to overlook individual time spent on developing their stick skills
