Lynda McCandlish

McCandlish, the 2015 NCAC Coach of the Year, has transformed the Yeowomen lacrosse program in her short tenure, leading the team to 19 wins in over her first two years.

The McCandlish File

  • Led the Yeowomen to NCAC Championship game in 2015, finishing runner-up to Denison University. It was Oberlin’s first NCAC Tournament berth since 2000.
  • Guided the team to an 11-6 overall record and 4-4 league mark in 2015 with three of the four losses coming by one goal.
  • Mentored an array of players to IWLCA All-Region honors and produced numerous All-NCAC honorees, including 2015 Defensive Player of the year Alexa L’Insalata.
  • Enters 2016 with a career record of 19-11 (.633 winning percentage)
  • Helped the Wildcats of Northwestern University win the NCAA title in 2005 and 2006. She was a part of the winningest class in school history at the time of her graduation with 64 wins over four years.
  • A native of Upper Arlington, Ohio, McCandlish led her high school alma mater to a state championship in 2008 as the head coach of the Golden Bears. She became the first women's lacrosse player in Ohio history to win a state championship as both a player and coach.
  • McCandlish was a double major in communication studies and psychology at Northwestern.
