Coach Profile
Assistant Coach
Sara Kettelkamp
Sara’s passion for running began in high school and continued throughout college where she pursued a degree in Sports Conditioning and Training at UCCS while competing for the cross-country and track team. Looking to expand her knowledge outside of her degree she became a certified personal trainer as well as a certified strength and conditioning coach. It was then that Sara volunteered as an assistant coach for the Palmer High School Cross Country and Track & Field team. This experience helped lock in her passion for coaching. Before graduating, Sara was offered a position as a graduate assistant coach with the UCCS team while she pursued a master’s degree in Health Promotion. While pursuing her master’s degree Sara spent most of her time researching functional movement and how to incorporate that into a running program. This research has led to a published article and an overhaul of the team’s strength training routines, which now focuses on identifying and improving the weaknesses of each athlete in order to improve overall strength.
